Job title: Advocacy Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Policy and Advocacy
Hours & Term: Full-time, two-year contract (until March 31, 2027, with possibility of extension)
Location: Remote, within Canada — preference for Ottawa-Gatineau National Capital Region (stable internet required)
Salary & Benefits: $60,000–$65,000, with dental and health benefits including gender-affirming care coverage
Vacation: 4 weeks paid vacation, plus 1.25 sick days per month
Languages: English required; French is a strong asset
About the Enchanté Network:
The Enchanté Network is the largest network of 2SLGBTQI+ organizations in Canada. We connect, support, and advocate for over 200 independent 2SLGBTQI+ organizations nationwide. Our members include 2 Spirit societies, pride centres, HIV/AIDS organizations, trans collectives, and countless other frontline groups supporting 2SLGBTQI+ communities.
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Advocacy Coordinator to play a critical role in advancing our advocacy efforts across federal, provincial, and municipal levels. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in policy advocacy and member engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Advocacy Support
• Assist in organizing lobby days and advocacy activities with elected representatives
• Provide logistical and administrative support for advocacy campaigns
• Develop advocacy materials, including briefs and reports
Communications & Outreach
• Lead communication strategies for advocacy and member engagement
• Promote advocacy events through outreach and publicity
• Develop messaging and materials to support policy engagement
Capacity Building
• Facilitate grassroots participation in advocacy campaigns
• Support trainings, webinars, and toolkits on advocacy best practices
• Recruit allied organizations for advocacy initiatives
Administrative Responsibilities
• Manage the membership CRM and engagement tools
• Oversee logistical aspects of advocacy initiatives, including event planning and reporting
• Track engagement metrics and maintain advocacy records
• Provide support to the Director of Policy and Advocacy as needed
Qualifications & Experience
• Post-secondary education in a related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the non-profit sector in areas such as program development, public engagement, or advocacy
• Proven experience with membership engagement, community outreach, and stakeholder relations
• Strong ability to collaborate with remote teams
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French an asset)
• High proficiency in cloud-based tools (Google Suite, Asana, WordPress, Slack)
• Experience with Action Network is an asset
• Deep commitment to anti-racism, intersectionality, and 2SLGBTQI+ rights
