Since childhood, Marie has always questioned the structures and systems that make up societal norms, specifically, moral mainstream compasses that govern what we label as  ‘right’ and ‘wrong’. Through their academic journeys she gained tremendous knowledge on  the ways in which media and communications can be used as tools to educate and tackle social issues and disparities. 

Marie utilizes strategic communications and multimedia storytelling as a tool to uplift marginalized communities and engage with social and systemic inequalities. At the core of her work, Marie explores the intersections between climate justice, food politics, and racial justice. Overall, her theoretical background gives them the knowledgeable praxis to be able envision solutions and see them through in practice.
