The Enchanté Network’s Board of Directors is excited to announce that Tyler Boyce has been hired as the network’s new Executive Director, joining the organization on September 20th. Tyler is a Kenyan and Somali Black queer public policy professional and community organizer with nine years of advocacy and leadership experience and a deep grounding in social justice, particularly as it is informed by Black queer feminist thought. Tyler is also an avid hiker and keen to hear about what social justice means to the Enchanté Network’s more than 160 members from across the country.

Tyler Boyce is nationally recognized for leading systemic equity-driven change and takes a result-based approach that embeds anti-racism and anti-oppression throughout his work. His ability to deploy public policy knowledge to affect change is strengthened by his professional experiences with the Black Gay Men’s Network of Ontario, Turner Consulting Group Inc. and the Department of Canadian Heritage, but it is his steadfast commitment to community that most informs his vision.

“I am honoured to be the next Executive Director of the network. From capacity building to community building to advocacy, the Enchanté Network was created to support 2SLGBTQI+ organizations at the national level,” said Boyce.

Tyler is the recipient of the Social Innovation Graduate Fellowship from Carleton University’s School of Public Policy and Administration and was invited by the Permanent Canadian Mission to present at a global roundtable discussion on mobilizing communities in support of the international decade for people of African descent at the 74th Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

“Tyler’s leadership will promote the stability of Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ sector in a way that is intersectional, Indigenized, and culturally competent,” added Rachel Loewen Walker, Chair of the Enchanté Network’s board of directors, “Tyler brings the vision, energy, and leadership expertise needed to guide the Enchanté Network into its next chapter.”

The Board of Directors would like to give heartfelt appreciation to our Interim Executive Director, Kathryn LeBlanc for her expert leadership throughout the last few months and her continued commitment to the Enchanté Network’s mission. We are delighted that Kathryn will serve as the Enchanté Network’s Director of Communications and Policy going forward.
