Queer Solidarity 4 Human Rights in Palestine:
We once said, “silence equals death”. Now is not the time to be silent as 1.1 million children face starvation in Gaza.
Today, The Enchanté Network, as Canada’s foremost association for 2SLGBTQI+ organizations, chooses to compliment the calls for an immediate ceasefire that we have already signed onto with our own plea for human rights and justice. Inspired by the Circle on Philanthropy and Voices4London—and standing in solidarity with them—we invite Canadian 2SLGBTQI+ individuals, organizations, and allies to unite in action.
The violence in Palestine, exacerbated by the Israeli occupation, demands that we scrutinise our global human rights role. With our foundation in consensus building, intergenerational solidarity, indigenization, adaptability, and equity, we recognize our shared struggle against oppression in all its forms.
The Enchanté Network sees the Canadian 2SLGBTQI+ community’s unique advocacy role, driven by our collective voice forged through struggles for visibility and rights. The Palestine crisis mirrors our fight, underscoring the universality of justice beyond borders.
Tell our government to do these 4 things :
- Tell the Prime Minister that Canada must stop all arms sales to Israel.
- Canada must pressure Israel to end the siege on Gaza. And to let in aid, food, water.
- Canada must make sure its diplomatic stances are not complicit in any genocidal acts in Gaza.
- Canada must pressure Israel to comply with all the rulings made by the International Court of Justice
Let’s turn empathy into action, linking queer liberation with the global fight against oppression. As it always has been and must be.
We also call for informed dialogue, opposing narratives justifying violence and discrimination, and supporting peace and justice initiatives. This includes fighting Islamophobia, antisemitism, and hate that has surged, both globally and within Canada.
In this call to action, the Enchanté Network reaffirms its commitment to intersectional queer liberation, acknowledging the diversity of our identities and struggles. Our solidarity extends to all fighting for rights and survival, knowing our liberation is interconnected.
This is a call from the Canadian 2SLGBTQI+ community and our allies for justice, peace, and the belief in collective freedom.
Take Action, Raise Your Voice, Stand for justice.
The Enchanté Network invites you to join us in this critical moment of global solidarity. Together, we can make a difference. Together, we can pave the way for a future where all are free from oppression.
